TRAPHOUSE
TRAP HOUSE
In 2016, Think Tank Presents teamed up with Ian Von Cromer to show off some our favorite artists and event directors in horror, scifi, and SFX sculpting. The result was a one-of-a-kind art show with a secret escape room component, featuring a sponsored event lounge series by Sailor Jerry and Lagunitas.
At the time, LACMA was running a Guillermo del Toro-curated exhibit, and many of the artists in the show were featured in our gallery as well as the museum down the street. The most unique installation was the functional escape room by Universal Studios Japan's art director Adam Milan Milicevic. In it, a violent rockstar human trafficking story took place, which started in the gallery and ended with some organ harvesting that allowed guests to become the art, as puzzles inside project clues outside into various conceptual art installations.
This exhibit inspired Vice to place us beside the Guggenheim and Wynwood Walls as one of the nation’s Top 25 Most Instagrammable arts venues.
