HUEMAN: RITUAL
INTERVIEW WITH LA CANVAS TV

In 2013, we gave Think Tank Gallery to Allison "Hueman" Torneros, who unveiled her highly anticipated solo project, RITUAL. The show was a truly massive, floor-to-ceiling, site-specific, fully-immersive mural that encompassed an entire industrial warehouse space.

To create the experience, Hueman followed a handful of LA artists, including actors, musicians and performers; gaining insight into the rituals they engage in before shows or working. Included in the exhibit and content surrounding it were multiple installation and performance artworks by collaborators Brandon Monk Muñoz, VYAL, JeSkilz, ATE9 Dance Company, and Jarrell.

With all this in mind, Hueman locked herself in the venue for two weeks leading up to the show to conduct her own ritual: transforming the entire space into the art piece, completely freestyle.
